Spending an afternoon in the lab
Preparing a buret
Our cheeks brushed as we closely watched
The flask (and my face) glow red.

Was it really a dipole moment?
They say opposites attract.
When I was struck by this affinity
My theory became a fact

You taught me more than chemistry
There was a world of love to see
And your eyes of blue showed me how
Every morning I'd awake
Hoping our bonds would never break
Oh I wish you could be beside me now

New Idea

I often feel that
I need to express my thoughts
With more syllables.

Therefore, I shall switch
To TANKA instead of the
Old haiku structure.
Yay... I get two extra lines.
Let's see how this works, okay?
